Red Cedar Dentistry is one of the select general dental offices to use 3D Cone Beam dental imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. The 3-D Cone Beam scan provides better patient care by giving a more detailed look at existing teeth, bone, nerves and tissue. This is the latest technology in x-ray machines, providing three-dimensional and multiple cross-sectional views that allow surgical and restorative mini implant treatment planning.

Cone beam technology is an important breakthrough for dental implant therapy. Our scanner gives us a three-dimensional image of a patient’s jaws and allows for precise mini dental implant placement. With this technology we can usually place the implants and set the dentures or teeth on them during a single visit to our office.

The 3D cone beam scan is faster than traditional x-rays. We capture the digital images within seconds and transfer them to a computer with the capacity to analyze and plan the procedure. This allows us to share the images, and the treatment plan, with our patients. The speed of the scan and the immediate results allows us to better communicate the specific dental work that must be done.

This technology has more benefits for our patients. Radiation exposure from cone -beam scanners is significantly less than from hospital grade scanners. Radiation exposure from cone beam scans is often less than from a full-mouth dental series of traditional x-rays.

No Insurance? No Problem! The Red Cedar Dentistry In-House Membership Program is designed to help lower the cost of dental services for patients without dental insurance. For a reasonable yearly membership fee, the program provides discounts for most preventative, restorative, and cosmetic services. Our program is not the same as dental insurance. It has no deductible, no annual maximums, no pre-authorization, and no waiting period! Contact our office today to ask questions and to get all the details. Memberships are valid for a full year, and can be renewed annually.

How Often Should I Visit the Dentist?
Everyone should visit the dentist at least twice a year for a professional cleaning and oral exam. Not only does a bi-annual routine visit help keep your teeth and gums in excellent health, but also it allows Dr. Hastings to check your mouth for any early-stage problems. Discovering oral health issues early is optimal and often requires less invasive and less expensive treatment.
When Should My Child See the Dentist for the First Time?
Dr. Hastings, as well as The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), all recommend that children see a dentist by the age of one. Preventive dental care is important, and it’s best when visits start at an early age. Our office understands the unique needs of children, which is why we make your child’s visit educational, enjoyable, and fun! You are welcome to accompany your child into the exam room, and we encourage questions and conversations about your child’s oral health.

Do You Offer Digital X-Rays?
Red Cedar Dentistry is pleased to offer the ease and convenience of digital dental x-rays. There are many benefits to digital x-rays, including the fact that they are safe, fast, and produce images of exceptional quality. We typically recommend a full set of dental x-rays for new patients who do not have x-rays available from a previous dentist. Routine x-rays (but not a full set) are usually recommended once a year or on an as-needed basis.
Can You Help Ease My Dental Anxiety?
We hope that nobody avoids visiting the dentist because of dental anxiety. At Red Cedar Dentistry, we are committed to helping you feel comfortable and at ease while you’re here. If you’d like to enjoy one of our comfortable massage chairs, please request one when you schedule your appointment. Additionally, we offer TVs on the ceiling of every exam room, so you can sit back, relax, and watch a movie during your treatment. Nitrous oxide is also available upon your request. If you feel anxious, please talk to us. We go out of our way to make sure you’re enjoy your visit every time you’re here.
